The Story

History class will commence…

Humans have existed for thousands of years and the one thing we have mastered in our short time in the galaxy is how to destroy ourselves and everything around us. Sometime around the year 2500 AD, Mankind went to war with the covenant. Decades went by with each side losing thousands and sometimes millions at a time. Then came the Flood. A brutal struggle for survival and the revealing of some truth lead to a shaky alliance between the Humans and some factions within the covenant. When the war finally ended many decades later Humanity held but one of what was once many gems of the galaxy, Earth.

With renewed vigor, Mankind began rebuilding its empire, with the aid of the Sangheili, and once again became a strong influence in the galaxy. But peace is a state of mind, a stat of mind that can only last so long…

Around the year 3000 AD, a greedy Human took the head of office of the human empire. Wanting only more power, he turned on the Sangheili, forcing yet another galactic battle, fierce enough to compare to the times when the Forerunner fought against the Flood so many millennia ago. On both sides the death toll rised through the millions and so many more gems in this universe were lost.

The Humans lost…

Fleeing from defeat, the humans scattered themselves amoungst the galaxy, hiding in fear, trembling, waiting to be found and destroyed. Some where lucky enough to find a planet or moon on the outskirts of the galaxy, a place where they could live peacefully, Others were not so lucky. However, there was one group that traveled so far in to oceanic the abyss that is the void of space and found something incredible, something with tremendous power. do you know what it is?

It’s the Ark, of course.

The Ark - Humanities last safe haven

The year is now somewhere around 3500 AD. Almost a full one thousand years after the first great galactic war. The human race has rebuilt it’s self on the Ark. The scholarly ways of learning and adapting technologies have almost all been lost. There are a few, however that have managed to keep such knowledge and pass it down through the generations that have passed. They are the Spartans, holy protectors of mankind and key-holders for the gates of the Ark. Fierce, Brave, cunning, courages, These soldiers are just as the legends tell them to be. Historians, or fairy tale tellers as some people like to call them now a days, tell tales of during the great war there were many Spartans who all fought and wona and could never be killed, they only went missing, never to be seen again. One hero, now known only by a three digit code, 117, was the most valient of them all. It is this hero that the Spartans now model themselves after.

Every army has their leaders. The Inquisition, what some believe to be modeled after the ONI from the first galactic war, are the generals of this time. Dark and secretive, no one truely knows what their real intent is but their orders always lead to the continuation of the survival of mankind and the prevention of the enemies reaching the Ark, so no one questions them.

This is the story. This is my story. I am, Belor, a Spartan, a warrior, protector of mankind. I have been engineered to be a faster, stronger, smarter killing machine, to be a savior under the watchful eye of the Inquisition. I am part of an elite group within Spartan ranks known as the ODST, Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. ODSTs specialize in hot zone dropping from orbit, and act alone. I will do what ever it takes to save humanity, or die trying!
